Cape May NJ - 12/27/2014
Cape May is a picturesque pleasant town with a increase in population in the summer months. As a tourist town a good deal of the people who live here make the bulk of their income from the tourist industry. It is becoming harder and harder to operate a business and afford a family in this area. The beauty of the victorian era buildings in the historic district are to be appreciated. The beaches are beautiful however even locals who are subject to very high taxation must pay both to park and for tags to enjoy these beaches. There is a dangerous and well publicized shore break as well.Since many people make the bulk of their income in the summer few have time to enjoy them anyway. There is little organization on a governmental level and in the areas surrounding the island itself.Cape May is becoming more and more commercialized and expensive seeking to distance itself from the local communities which surround it.Family and children are not a focal point to most of those in power on Read More

While the on-island real estate prices are getting steep, the mainland is becoming developed, and the smart homebuyers are realizing their dream of a shore home at a lower cost just minutes from the beaches.

I've lived here for 15 years and have noticed more people moving to the area from the city and suburbs to raise their families or to retire. There is something for everyone Read More
